This guide will walk you through the process of migrating your web hosting to Serversaurus
You've decided to switch from your current service provider to Serversaurus, nice choice! We provide a complimentary migration with any new web hosting service, whether you're a new client or an existing client.
Note: Website migrations and domain transfers are different processes. To learn more about domain transfers we have a step to step guide.
For security reasons we advise not to send login credentials via email. For secure transfer of login information, please use our Escrow site.
Now let's get started! Please register an account with us.
There are three main migration components which are unique to your setup, please let us know which apply to your migration.
1. Website hosting
To migrate your website, we need granted access to your current web hosting provider. This allows us to generate a backup of all files and databases, and ensure all configurations are migrated too.
After receiving login access, we can review your hosting requirements and recommend an appropriate plan.
2. DNS hosting
Serversaurus offer complimentary DNS management with your web hosting or domain registration. Having your website and DNS managed in once place can make management a lot easier. It's fine to have your DNS management hosted elsewhere too.
To perform the migration, we need granted access to your DNS manager regardless of where the DNS will be hosted. This allows us to update the DNS records post migration or migrate the DNS Zone depending on your preference.
If you have the skills to perform the updates, or a technical contact who can help, then we can coordinate the changes via email.
3. Domain manager
If are migrating your DNS records to Serversaurus, we need granted access to your domain manager to update your domain nameservers post migration.
Alternatively, we can provide instructions so you can update the nameservers yourself.
If you're unsure of where your DNS, website or domain is managed, we can help you identify your current suppliers.
To arrange a migration
Thanks again for choosing Serversaurus web hosting. To arrange your migration, please get in touch at support@serversaurus.com.au. We will require the information above so please be prepared and have the required access information on hand.
Once we have received those details from you, we can provide a hosting recommendation and schedule the migration.
